ResQ Me! sampler

She slips into tight fitting low-rise jeans with flared legs, a red spaghetti strap top and a white blouse. She leaves the blouse unbuttoned to show the red top and rolls up the sleeves to her mid-forearm. She puts a zigzag part in her curly brown hair then twists it up and holds it in place with a clip. She slips her right foot into a loose fitting white skater shoe…then the left one. She tucks the laces under the tongue of each shoe then readjusts her pant legs to flow over the shoes, gives herself one final check in the wardrobe mirror and exits the bedroom to meet the love of her life.

Mary and Ryan take a nice long stroll around a small lake in a park. They walk hand in hand as they watch the mallard ducks, coots and Canadian geese swimming on the lake while involving themselves in a lengthy conversation. He opens a small bag of potato chips he brought to feed the ducks and they continue walking around the lake to find a ‘fowl free’ area to lay a blanket down for a romantic picnic.

She sits comfortably on the blanket before being nuzzled by Ryan, and starts off their lunch with pâté de foie gras on rosemary cracked wheat wafers, Port Salut and Belgian dark chocolate on a plain water cracker and since she does not drink alcohol, a wine glass filled with delicious sparkling apple cider.

He rests his right arm over her shoulders as she holds up a cracker with pâté for him to taste. He nibbles on her ear as she makes another cracker for him with Port Salut and chocolate. He takes a bite and approves of her choice. He takes the remaining cracker from her and feeds it to her. She sips her cider to help it down.

When the timing is right, she pulls out grilled chicken Panini sandwiches that are garnished with sliced roma tomatoes, arugula, honey mustard and an olive paste. Ryan is amazed with her food selection. He fell in love with a woman who not only loves sports, but also knows her foods.

After eating, Ryan lies down on his back and allows his food to digest. Mary lays on her side to snuggle up to him. She sneaks a tender, soft kiss that quickly turns into a passionate one. She lightly brushes her fingertips over his face and admires his handsomeness. She stares lovingly into his eyes as she listens to the birds chirping, ducks quacking and the stream trickling nearby. She relaxes and focuses on them before closing her eyes and momentarily falling into a light sleep; the sounds are new to her because she is able to hear them. They are not drowned out by many vehicles passing by or by the blaring of sirens.

She opens her eyes to enjoy the beautiful green foliage around them and the big beautiful blue sky that Montana is so famous for. She tells him how jealous she is of him for having scenery this beautiful so close to home. Where she lives in California, everything is brown; multi shades of brown. The mountains and hills are brown. The ground is a lighter shade of brown and the businesses and houses being built are, for some reason, being painted in many different brown tones.

The sky is blue, but with all the growth in her area, it will soon be filled with smog and become, yet, another shade of brown. There are, however, very few brown cars in her area that somewhat offsets the brownness. She loves seeing a multitude of color where Ryan lives. There are many different green colors. The grass is a different shade from the bushes which are a different hue from the leaves of the trees.

There is some brown in the area; where the farmers harvest their crops; where they have tilled their fields to plant more crops; and where the tall grasses are becoming dormant for the season all have different, yet prettier, shades of brown. Everything stands out…a few deer on the side of the road, a herd of antelope in a farmer’s field or even a couple moose in the mountains; she can see them because they do not blend into the similar shades of brown.

“Time for dessert,” the beautiful woman says as she sits up to get into the picnic basket. She removes from it cubes of angel food cake and two bowls; one containing diced Asian pears and the other fresh whole raspberries. She picks up a toothpick and pierces one raspberry and one piece of pear then a cube of cake and carefully places them in his mouth.

“Mmm…tasty,” he says, “but I think it needs chocolate syrup.”

Mary laughs as she disagrees with his suggestion.

He tenderly touches her lips with his then whispers in her ear a suggestive comment about the chocolate syrup causing her to laugh more.

He cannot believe that the woman of his dreams stumbles back into his life after all these years. He was stupid to let her go then and will not let her go again. He loves her. She is his soul mate. He loves her wit…her charm…her beauty. He loves how smart she is and that she knows how and when to use her intellect. He loves her poise, finesse and humor. She is just an all around well-rounded woman. He loves her beautiful brown eyes…her impeccable ivory complexion and her perfect smile revealing a slight dimple on her left cheek. She has an exquisite body and legs that just won’t quit. He is in love with her and wants to spend an eternity with her.

They finish off the day cuddling in Ryan’s bed and enjoy a romantic comedy playing on the television. When it ends, they chat for a while until Mary falls asleep. He holds her tightly, nestles his chin on her shoulder and sleeps there for the rest of the night.
